Relax and Explore the Twente Countryside by Electric Car
Want to enjoy the beautiful Twente landscape in complete relaxation? Step into one of the electric carts and let an experienced guide drive you through scenic natural areas via small roads, forest paths, and sandy trails. The electric cart is a whisper-quiet, eco-friendly vehicle. Together, you glide silently and comfortably through nature, visiting beautiful spots. Older visitors, for example, can reach places that are normally inaccessible on foot or by bike. The tour is also wheelchair-friendly. Along the way, the guide shares stories and interesting facts about the local nature, culture, and history—making for a few wonderful hours immersed in nature in a very special way.
There are four routes available in the municipality of Losser, exploring the countryside in De Lutte, Losser, Overdinkel, and Glane.
Lutterzandexpress in De Lutte
From Paviljoen Lutterzand, the electric cart departs every Wednesday afternoon from May through September at 1:30 PM for a 2½-hour tour. You will explore the nature reserve ’t Lutterzand, with its unique sand drifts, heathlands, juniper bushes, and pine forests. Much of the area is bordered by the meandering river Dinkel, with its spectacular eroded banks. The Dinkel is one of the few rivers in the Netherlands that has retained its original character. Its winding course creates deep incisions in the soil, most prominently visible at the “Greune Stet” or De Groene Staart. The right bank rises high with sandy cliffs, offering stunning views over flat green meadows.
This tour is led by a nature guide who shares fascinating facts about the flora and fauna of the Lutterzand. A truly special experience in a remarkable natural area.
Maximum participants: 15 people, or 13 people + 1 wheelchair user.
