The whole area has well signposted hiking- and bikingtrails for the somewhat active visitors. The town of Losser also has a swimmingpool and a multifunctional sports complex. The historical heritage in and around the town is well preserved. Extra special are the typical activities which belong to this region, like “klootschieten” and “boerengolf”.

Losser

Losser is relatively old. Some of the barnyards around Losser are mentioned in ancient writings from the 9th century. These days Losser is a lively town with a varied retail offer. There are cute clothing stores, sporting goods stores, art galleries, a few supermarkets and many restaurants. Every Thursday afternoon there is a market in the towns square. This is one of the things that show the well preserved historical traditions.

Parking is free in the whole town centre. However you need to use the blue “clock” card in your windshield. This allows for 1,5 hours of free parking.

Sights

If you want to get to know the historical buildings in and around the centre of Losser, we recommend “het Boggelpad”. Het Boggelpad is a 2,3 km hiking trail though the town of Losser. Another way to see Losser is to hire a guide. He or she will tell all about the historical past of the town and it’s beautifull sights.

Losser has several typical sights like the brick factory, cultural-historical park Erve Kraesgenberg, the “dorpsbleek”, the “Martinustoren” and open air theater Brilmansdennen.

Routes en nature parks

There are several hiking- and biking trails around Losser. The Gildehaus-Dinkelroute and the Dinkelstenenroute are the most beautiful biking trails. Most biking trails in the region are made with numbers. Every junction has it’s own number. In losser it’s number 13. Here you can easily start or end junction routes.

Losser has multiple nature parks. “Het Haagse bos” is fantastic to bike through and the nearby “landgoed Snippert” is great for hiking. Also “De Losserse Zandbergen” and bird area “De Oelermars” are definitly worth a visit.
