The municipality of Losser has been named one of the six best camping locations in the Netherlands. This was the verdict of booking site Jetcamp, which compared campsites throughout the country. This makes the municipality of Losser the best camping location in Overijssel.

There has been a significant increase in campers in recent years, with 5.2 million guests in 2024, a growth of 3.5% from 2022. This is partly due to the trend of continuing glamping and eco-camping trends.
Campsites in tourist areas
The Netherlands has several cities and municipalities where tourists like to spend their vacation days. This ranges from municipalities on the coast to municipalities towards the border with Germany.
JetCamp conducted research on campsites in the Netherlands to find out the best location for camping in the Netherlands. Based on hundreds of thousands of reviews, they came to several conclusions. For example, they looked at the appeal of various tourist areas, factors such as average campsite ratings per municipality and the popularity of campsites throughout the Netherlands.

JetCamp.com aggregates scores from various authoritative sources and displays them in 1 overview per campground. Based on all the reviews, they have made a top 10 of the municipalities with, on average, best rated campsites in the Netherlands. In determining the top 10, a minimum number of campsites per municipality (threshold) was also taken into account, which in this case is five.

Divided over 12 provinces, there are 3570 campsites in the Netherlands. As in 2022, in 2025 campsites are generally doing well with an average rating of 8.3. Compared to 2022, however, there are some shifts. On average, campers in Overijssel (8.5), Friesland (8.4) and Zeeland (8.4) are now the most satisfied. The top three are followed by Groningen with an 8.4 and Drenthe with an 8.3.
